The Powerful Voice

This 1 hour workshop is developed to help any team who use their voices in their work, especially sales teams and presenters, to access the real power in their voices.

Most people’s voices get very tired when they speak for a longer time, due to poor voice-use. So we look at how to speak in a healthy way with the help of techniques from the world of breathwork and singing.

Among the areas covered:

# Breathing properly
# Supporting the speaking voice
# Resonance
# Chest voice and head voice
# Finding your optimum vocal pitch
# Developing real vocal power
# Accessing a range of emotional expression

1-Day Speaker Bootcamp

Four men standing inside a room, engaged in a conversation or activity, with one man speaking and gesturing with his hands.
Group of diverse adults standing together in a classroom, smiling and celebrating.

Due to popular demand, I have developed a 1-day workshop that takes you from worried and uncertain about public speaking, to having a firm grounding in how to use your voice, your body, the stage, and how to construct and deliver a speech. By the end of the day you will have stood in front of the group and delivered a 2-4 minute speech based on a story from your own life - guaranteed!

This workshop will take you out of your comfort zone and get you to take action towards becoming a great presenter. Are you ready to get this sorted?

Schedule

MORNING SESSION

Breathing and Voice - how to speak clearly and loudly with a well-supported voice that doesn’t get tired. You will learn about the different registers of the voice, do a string of exercises for articulation and tone, find your natural “sweet spot” for vocal ease, and learn how to project your voice to the back row of any venue.

Body language - how we communicate with our bodies. You will learn the power-gestures and posture that relay competence. You will be taken through exercises that help you to reinforce what you are saying with functional gesturing, and you will loosen up and relax on the stage.

Stage mastery - how to move onstage. Where to stand for maximum impact. Eye contact with the audience and how to keep them engaged with your presence.

Mindset - exercises to calm the body and mind before entering the stage.

AFTERNOON SESSION

Speech structure - How to build a speech that has coherence and inner logic, so that it is satisfying and comprehendible to the audience.

Storytelling - An incredibly important skill to master as stories are by far the best way to convey information and have it be remembered.

Finding your unique stories - We run through several methods to start building your personal storehouse of stories, for you to call upon at any time. We all have far more stories than we think.

Writing your speech - With the knowledge we now have we are ready to put together our first simple speech. By writing it out we have a framework for memorisation which we can easily follow.

All participants get to deliver a 2-4 minute speech on the stage, with some live feedback and coaching from me.
